QUARRY MANAGER – NIGERIA
Ping International Recruitment Ltd are working with a large Main Contractor in Nigeria who require a Quarry Manager to manage the process of extracting and supplying primary building materials to their projects in Abuja. The company operates a medium sized quarry which provide a range of aggregates.
We currently have an outstanding long-term opportunity for a Quarry Manager to manage the operation.
QUARRY MANAGER ROLE
The successful candidate should have previous practical experience in all aspects of sand rock and gravel quarrying operations from extraction to restoration work.
Ideally, the role will suit a self-motivated individual who can demonstrate an understanding of appropriate procedures, who ideally has experience and ability to lead a team and is able to get employees to buy into them to help them grow and develop.
The ideal candidate will boast:
- Experience working in West Africa
- SHE NVQ Level 6 or above or Similar
- Excellent awareness of current Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation.
- At least 5 years relevant experience, which will comprise of project management.
- A sound understanding of both static and mobile plant and machinery.
Day to day work activities:
- Oversee daily operations of the quarry, including production, maintenance, and safety protocols.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimise quarry operations and maximise productivity.
- Ensure that extraction and processing work is carried out to the highest standard.
- Examining the materials produced to ensure a high quality.
- Supervise quarry staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any safety hazards or maintenance needs.
Requirements:
- The successful candidate will preferably have a good knowledge of sand and gravel processing plant management, including experience of earthworks and restoration process.
- Able to demonstrate knowledge by degree, diploma or through relevant experience.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Proficient in using computer software for record keeping and reporting.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
The Quarry Manager may be required to perform additional tasks as needed to support the overall operations of the quarry.
Remuneration: Our client have a budget of circa £80-90k GBP NET + Accomodation, Vehicle, Flights, Medical.
This role is a single status posting only and offers 30 days annual leave.
