Lead Mechanic – Guyana – South America
Overview
A Lead Mechanic is required in Guyana by a leading International main contractor as part of a large civils program in Guyana, South America.
The client
Ping International Recruitment are working with a well known main contractor who have a strong project portfolio in South America and Eastern Europe. Our client have a background in heavy civils and infrastructure works and have a large fleet of heavy earthmoving and road construction equipment.
The role
The position available is a Lead Mechanic position and our client is looking for a ‘Hands on’Lead Mechanic to look after their fleet and ensure its consistent running and maintenance whilst assisting with the training and up skilling of local fitters / mechanics. Typical brands of equipment would include CAT, Komatsu, Bell, Hitachi and Bosch. Experience with any of these is desirable.
The ideal candidate
– Experienced Mechanic / fitter
– Background in heavy civils equipment
– Experience working with large brands such as CAT, Komatsu, Bell etc
– Stable employment background
– Good references
– Experience working in remote areas on rotation
– Happy to work on a single status overseas
The salary
The salary is paid on a day rate basis of around $250 USD NET per day plus housing, transport, food and flights. The rotation is negotiable but likely to be 60 days on 30 off or 75 days on 15 off. It is a 6 day working week and a single status posting.
