Overview
A Chief Technical Director is required by a large International main contractor to lead the technical division for their operations in Nigeria, Africa.
Our Client
Our client are a well known International business with a strong reputation in West Africa. They are specialists in civils construction and work with private and public clients to deliver challenging and complex civil engineering projects in the region. They are looking to add a Chief Technical Director to their Nigeria branch who will lead their roads division. They have a strong order book of projects and are tendering heavily to continue their growth in the country.
The Role
The position available is a Chief Technical Director role that will report into the Managing Director for the business. This role will be the lead engineering function for the business involved in all aspects of design, engineering, tender matters and technical issues on exisiting projects. The role will be based in Lagos in our clients head office and lead a team of office based engineers and assist project teams with all technical enquiries. This position holds a significant amount of responsibility and will require a superb engineering mind to help the business develop and deliver its goals.
The ideal candidate will have
– Experience working in Africa
– Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, ideally to MSc level
– Roads and infrastructure specialist
– Strong experience with main contracting businesses
– Happy to be based and work in Nigeria
– Experience leading a technical engineering department
– Stable employment history
– Fluent in English
The salary / package
The role is offering a market leading salary of around $17k USD per month plus housing, transport, flights and insurances. The client is keen to find the right person and is negotiable on the above figure depending on qualifications, experience and interview.
